Profitability is focus of BDC small business seminarThe Southwestern Oregon Community College Business Development Center is offering a program for business owners and managers focusing on the fundamental goal of any business – increasing profitability. The Business Excellence Program – with its first session scheduled from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, in North Bend – teaches individuals to improve profitability through better business management and by developing a sound plan for growth and expansion. Business owners will learn to enhance their marketing efforts to gain and secure customers, improve their record keeping and financial management systems and deal with employee and personnel issues. With a unique format that includes 10 group training sessions featuring business experts supplemented with individual business advising and group networking, business owners will have the opportunity to share perspectives on business development that enhance business savvy and improve operations. Group sessions are two evenings per month, and trainers include local CPAs as well as marketing experts. Enrollment is limited.
