Supervisory skills training begins April 11

The Southwestern Oregon Community Business Development Center and the South Coast Employer Council are teaming up to offer a series of workshops this spring for new supervisors and those seeking to fine-tune their management skills.

Instructor Rama Eshelbrenner – who has more than 20 years of experience in human resources, training, coaching and counseling – will return to the South Coast to present the series. Her primary focus has been in management development, team building, communication and conflict management. Workshops are scheduled over a period of three Fridays, from April 11 through 25, in North Bend. Workshops are scheduled the following times and dates:

  • Orientation to Supervision, 9 a.m. to noon on April 11;
  • Hiring Practices, 1 to 4 p.m. on April 11;
  • Communication, 9 a.m. to noon on April 18;
  • Managing Employees, 1 to 4 p.m. on April 18;
  • Managing Teams, 9 a.m. to noon on April 25; and
  • Priority Management, 1 to 4 p.m. on April 25.

Cost of the series is $249, which includes materials, but individual workshops can be taken for $49 each. For more information, or to register, those interested can call the BDC at 756-6778.
