Community Health Fair scheduled at Southwestern

The Southwestern Oregon Community College Nursing Program and Bay Area Hospital are sponsoring a Community Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 18 at the College Recreation Center, in partnership with area healthcare providers.

Free health screenings will include checks for glucose, blood pressure, eyes, cholesterol, diabetes, breast cancer, and fall prevention and balance on a first come, first served basis while supplies last. Bay Area Hospital will provide booths with information on mental health, social services, pharmacy, cardiac rehab, mammography, dietary, physical therapy, MOMS Program, oncology and emergency care. Community booths also will be available with information on Fibromyalgia, Alzheimer’s, stress management and smoking cessation.

Southwestern is hosting this event as a free community service event in coordination with Bay Area Hospital, Coos County Public Health, Southern Coos Hospital, North Bend Medical Center, Waterfall Clinic, the Coquille Tribes and other community partners.
