Anatomy and Physiology course slated in BrookingsSouthwestern Oregon Community College will be offering an Anatomy and Physiology course this Winter Term in Brookings. The course – scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the term at Brookings-Harbor High School – is required for students applying to nursing programs, and also can be taken for college-level science credit. The Winter Term course is the first of a three-course sequence which is to continue during Spring and Summer terms in Curry County. The instructor, Dr. William Lemon, holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from University of California at Irvine; master’s degree in Biology from California State University at Northridge; and Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Texas at Austin, where his research focused on the physiology and anatomy of the nervous system. He has taught at Colby College in Maine and most recently at Texas Tech University, where he served as an assistant professor. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to share my passion for science and my enthusiasm for education with the students at Southwestern Oregon Community College,” Lemon said.
