Student Spotlight
Arnold Sylvester returned to school in Fall 2005 to earn his GED. He wanted to change and acquire professional skills.
High scores on the GED test qualified Arnold for a Southwestern Scholarship. He's working on his two-year degree and would like to transfer to a university where he plans to study computer modeling of theoretical physics. Arnold maintained a 4.0 GPA, and has received honors for Academic Excellence.
Curry News and Updates
Southwestern Oregon Community College is offering a new class on Digital Scrapbooking in Curry County.
Diane Cavaness – a local middle school teacher and self-taught digital scrapbooking enthusiast – will be teaching the class, scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, May 7 through June 4, in the computer lab at the Southwestern Brookings Center.
Southwestern Oregon Community College is offering the “eBay Selling” course in Brookings for those who are ready to get started in the exciting world of online selling.
Karen Clark – an education specialist trained by eBay – will be teaching the class from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, in Brookings. The information offered in the class will help students get their businesses up and running on eBay.
