Visiting Teams and Athletic Trainers


I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your team to Southwestern Oregon Community College. We hope that your visit is enjoyable and injury-free. During your visit, the following will be available:

  • Taping tables
  • Water
  • Coolers for sidelines
  • Ice for water coolers
  • Ice for injuries
  • Emergency equipment if needed

You will have access to all modalities in the athletic training room for you to use on your athletes during regular hours, prior to the game. We have a variety of modalities including Ice, Ultrasound, Electrical Stimulation, and Heat Packs. The athletic training room is located in Prosper Hall, ground floor, next to the Women’s Locker Room.

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the Southwestern Oregon Community College Athletic Training Department is to provide optimal medical care to the student athletes through preventative measures, acute emergency and non-emergency attention, rehabilitative measures, injury/illness management and injury education. Additionally, the Department is to provide individual support and personal attention between the student athlete and medical community in order to ensure highest possible quality medical care.

Southwestern Oregon Community College Athletic Training Department works in conjunction with the surrounding Orthopaedic physicians of Coos Bay/North Bend. After seeing the Athletic Trainer, the student-athlete may be referred for further evaluation. Often, an athlete can be seen within 24 hours.
