Danaye began dance and gymnastics training in 1985 and joined her first cheer squad in 1994. A Coos County native, for the most part, she cheered at and graduated from North Bend High School. Danaye spent her first year of college at Southwestern Oregon Community College where she was on the cheer/dance team. She then moved to Portland, Oregon, to become a member of the 2000-2001 Trailblazers Stunt Team. Danaye also cheered at Portland State University where she received her B.A. in Child and Family Studies in 2004. While living in Portland, she also taught summer cheer camps for United Spirit Association, was the Dance Director at a preschool in Lake Oswego, and was a backup dancer for Neil Young. Since moving back to Coos County in 2009, Danaye has been teaching dance and cheerleading at Xpressions Dance Studio in North Bend. She is also currently a full-time kindergarten teacher.
