Coach Trevor Hoppe, also know as Coach Hop begins his 19th year of coaching and his fourth year as the head basketball coach and physical education/health education instructor at Southwestern Oregon Community College.  Coach Hop has also served as the head coach at College of the Redwoods, as an assistant basketball coach at Menlo College, head coach at Ohlone College, assistant coach at San Jose City College, and an assistant coach at Humboldt State University. 

Last season Coach Hop guided the Lakers to a record of 22-10 and a trip to the final four of the NWAACC Tournament. Coach Hop’s plan for the Lakers is to play an up-tempo style of basketball while focusing on fundamentals, team play, and unselfishness. 

Coach Hop earned his A.A. degree from College of the Redwoods and his B.A. and M.A. in Physical Education from Humboldt State University.  Coach Hop is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

Coach Hop is married to Katherine Hoppe, who is the Director of the Coos Bay – North Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau.  Coach Hop and Katherine are the proud parents of three pets, their cat George and dogs Shortie & Vegas, they reside in North Bend.
