Southwestern athlete to sign 4-year college letter of intent

COOS BAY, OR – Kelsey George, a guard for the Southwestern Oregon Community College (SWOCC) Women’s Basketball team, will sign a national letter of intent April 17 to continue playing basketball next year at Rocky Mountain College, a NAIA Division II school and member of the Frontier conference.

Kelsey has been a vital asset to this Laker team’s rise into the upper half of Southern region basketball,” said SWOCC Head Coach Mike Herbert.

The 5’6” guard is originally from Phoenix High School, Phoenix, OR She averaged 12 points, four rebounds, and nearly two assists per game last season, including a season high of 22 points versus Mt Hood Community College on 3 of 4 shooting from the 3-point line.

George will graduate from SWOCC this spring term with a 3.62 GPA. She was also selected by the coaches in the Southern Region as a member of the Southern Region Honorable Mention group this season.
