Southwestern Athlete To Sign 4-year College Letter of Intent
COOS BAY, OR – Joseph Moquino, a guard for the Southwestern Oregon Community College (SWOCC) Men’s Basketball team, signed a national letter of intent, May 7, 2012 to continue playing basketball next year at Lewis-Clark State College, a NAIA Division I school and member of the Frontier Conference.
Joseph was instrumental in helping us back to the NWAACC Championship Tournament,” said SWOCC Head Coach Trevor Hoppe.
The 5’10” guard is originally from Sandia High School in Albuquerque, NM. He averaged 19 points, four rebounds, and two steals per game last season, including a season high of 38 points versus Chemeketa Community College on 5 of 10 shooting from the 3-point line.
Moquino was voted First-Team all-conference, all-defensive team, and was selected to play in the NWAACC sophomore all-star team by the coaches in the Southern Region.
“Joseph was instrumental in helping us back to the NWAACC Championship Tournament,” said SWOCC Head Coach Trevor Hoppe. “He is such a hard worker, I am very proud to see his hard work pay off and that he will transferring to Lewis-Clark State College.”
