Southwestern's Volleyball Coaches
Coach Stephanie Willett is ready to begin her fourth season as head coach for Southwestern after two seasons as assistant coach for the team. Willett was a setter for the Lakers in 2004-2006. During this time, the team was named Co-Champs of the Southern Region and made the NWAACC Tournament in 2005. As a Laker, Stephanie set records for the All Time Top Setters and Servers list. After her time at Southwestern, she attended Eastern New Mexico in 2006-2007 where she became the libero position and was named Defensive Player of the Week multiple times. Stephanie finished her volleyball playing career as a defensive specialist at Oregon Institute of Technology in 2007. Coach Willett then graduated from Western Oregon University in 2009 with a BS in Communications and minor in humanities.
Stephanie Willett is a local high school graduate from North Bend High School where she lettered two years. She currently resides in North Bend.
Mark Hubbard enters his 17th year as assistant coach for the Laker volleyball team. He has been around the game of volleyball since his early years and has the knowledge and experience to better the team. Coach Hubbard helps in all aspects of the game.
Mark and his wife Tiffany reside in North Bend with their daughter Gabrielle.
Kari Bettencourt is in her fourth year of assisting for the Southwestern Oregon Laker volleyball team. She is a 2004 graduate from North Bend HS where she lettered 2 years in volleyball, 4 years in basketball, and 4 years in track.
She continued her volleyball career as an outside hitter here at Southwestern Oregon from 04-06, where she was a part of the 2005 Co-Champs Southern Region team and participated in the NWAACC Tournament. Kari was selected to the 1st Team Southern Region All-Star team, the Sophomore All-Star Team, and holds a school record for top hitters. After Southwestern, Kari continued her volleyball career at Eastern New Mexico University.
Kari resides in North Bend with her husband Nick and daughter Keira.
