Southwestern's Softball Program

Southwestern softball began in the spring of 1995. In four seasons of softball competition, Southwestern has compiled a record o f 116-85. Our overall league record is 76-56. Southwestern has qualified for the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) conference championship in 1996 - 1997 - 1998. In the 1997-98 season Southwestern tied with Lower Comumbia for 2nd place in the Southern Region and that Laker team went on tho place 4th in the NWAACC championship Tournament.

Southwestern Softball includes a fall season which is based primarily on team bonding and getting team members physically and mentally ready for the spring season. In addition the Southwestern Softball team will travel and compete in four contests with other colleges.

This is still a relatively young program and yet the Lakers have sent players on to play Division I and II Softball. There are currently two former Southwestern players at four year institutions. Southwestern is dedicated to see it's players continue playing at the four-year level.
