Southwestern's Track & Field Coaching Staff

Dan Neal has been the Head Track and Field coach at Southwestern for 11 years. He participated in college track and field at Southern Oregon University. He received his Masters in Sport Coaching from the United States Sports Academy in Alabama. Coach Neal owned a Gymnastics academy in Coos Bay for 20 years and his knowledge of biomechanics and training has allowed him to provide tot notch coaching for his athletes.

Terry Mendez is a student of the Throwing Events. He has an in-depth knowledge of all the throwing events. He was a former athlete at Southwestern and went on to become an Emergency Medical Technician for Bay City Ambulance in Coos Bay, Oregon. He has developed a great workout routine for our throwers that includes weight training and technique work.
