Southwestern's Volleyball Coaches

2007-2008

Coach John Speasl has been at the helm of Laker Volleyball since 1979.   He recieved his Bachelors degree and Masters degree from Southern Oregon University.

John started at Southwestern as a Health and Physical Education Instructor. In 1986 he became Athletic Director and continues to serve as Athletic Director today.

Coach Speasl has Coached numerous All-Conference and All-American athletes and was named NWAACC Regional Coach of the year in 1985, 1990 and 2005.

Mark Hubbard
Assistant Coach

Assistant Coach, Mark Hubbard is a 10 year veteran that is a positive and knowledgable asset to the Laker Volleyball program.

Mark is an excellent volleyball player and still competes on a regular basis. He is able to bring his skills to the daily practice sessions and helps to hone the Lakers skills.

Kati Banks
Assistant Coach

Kati Banks has been with the Laker Volleyball Program for 9 years as an assistant. Kati works with all of the Laker players, her specialty is Middle Blocker and is able to use her vast experience to help develop future All-Americans. Her honors include: Two time 1st Team All-Region, All NWAACC, AVCA All-American.
