One Year Certificate Medical TranscriptionThe Medical Transcription Certificate of Completion prepares students for an entry-level position in a variety of health care settings including medical clinics, doctors' offices, hospitals, private transcription businesses, and long-term care facilities. The transcriptionist uses word processing equipment to transcribe medical reports according to established guidelines for format, accuracy, and speed. These reports become an important part of the patient's medical record. Medical transcriptionists must have an excellent command of both the English language and medical terminology in order to proofread documents with accuracy. He or she must be a proficient typist and be familiar with hospital and office procedures. The medical transcriptionist uses word processing equipment to transcribe medical reports according to established guidelines for format, accuracy, and speed.
