College Now

Earn College Credits Now!

Students don't have to wait until they graduate from high school to start earning college credits through Southwestern. The College Now programs works with local junior and senior aged students to earn college credits prior to graduation. By the time College Now students graduate from high school they already have a head start on post-secondary education at a cost far below regular college tuition prices, saving both time and money as they get started on their next steps.
Students can earn:

  • Lower Division Transfer credit that counts toward a Bachelor's degree in such subject areas as Literature, Writing, World Languages, History, Science and Mathematics, or
  • Career & Technical Education, Associate of Applied Science programs, such as Automotive Service Technology, Computer Applications Systems, Early Childhood Education, Welding, Construction and many more!

Some courses are taught at the high schools during school hours, while others are taught at Southwestern during the day, evening, or weekends. The on-campus courses are made available through Senate Bill 300 (SB 300), with the goal to provide students with additional options to continue or complete their education, and to allow them to earn concurrent high school and college credits through public community colleges and universities in the state of Oregon.

The goal of the College Now program is for high school age students to get a head-start on college or a career by earning college credits before finishing high school.
