The CORE Committee is a committee that was formed to help manage the recognition and professional development activities at Southwestern Oregon Community College in order to strengthen collegiality, recognize employee contributions, and support professional development for all employees.
Scope:
Purpose: The purpose of the committee is to:
- Serve as a steering committee with oversight of employee recognition and professional development sub-committees.
- Encourage a culture of teamwork and congeniality between all employees.
- Promote individual excellence and opportunities for professional development across departments and employee classifications.
- Inspire excellence among all employees.
Activities: The committee may pursue its purposes by undertaking appropriate activities chosen by the membership of the committee. Activities specifically included are to:
- Hold regularly scheduled meetings for the sharing of information and status among committee and sub-committees members.
- Create and use sub-committees for employee professional development and employee recognition as well as special projects.
- Establish and maintain shared resources for mutual support among committee members and staff at Southwestern.
- Establish and maintain appropriate and effective communication channels among committee members and college staff.
Participants: College staff representing each employee classification and participation on employee recognition and professional development activities will attend the meetings and serve on sub-committees.
