Scope: The Employee/Retiree Recognition Event Committee was formed to plan and manage the yearly recognition of employees and retirees at Southwestern Oregon Community College.
Purpose: The purpose of the committee is to:
1. Plan the yearly Employee and Retiree Recognition Event.
2. Work with Human Resources to recognize Excellence in Action recipients, Years of Service recipients, Employee of the Month award recipients, Employee of the Year award recipients, yearly retiree recognition, and other deserving employees.
Activities: The committee may pursue its purposes by undertaking appropriate activities chosen by the membership of the committee. Activities specifically included are to:
1. Hold regular meetings for the sharing of information and status among committee members.
2. Plan catering for the yearly event.
3. Plan activities and decorations based on the event theme.
4. Gather invitee lists, award recipient lists, send invitations, gather RSVPs, and develop a program of the night’s itinerary.
5. Meet after the event each year to set a date, location and choose the new chair for the next event.
6. Chair will sit on and report to the CORE committee.
Participants: Participation on the committee is voluntary and open to all employee classifications.
