Brookings, OR. - Learn a new variation on a traditional quilt pattern in this one-day workshop. “Topsy Turvy” is the quilt pattern from the book Fabric Fandango by Gail Simpson being taught this March. This quilt is a variation on the basket weave block. The center sections of the block are strip pieced, made into a long strip then cut to size. The quilt looks great in fabrics that read as solids such as tone-on-tone or hand dyed or batiks. Quilt size is approximately 60” x 70”. The cost of this one-day workshop is $30.00. The book is available to participants for an additional $6.00. A materials list is available at registration.
This class will be taught by Azalea Quilters Guild President Cindy Golding. Participants should bring a sewing machine, fabric, rotary cutter and cutting mat, and general supplies needed for sewing. Class will meet Saturday March 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Curry Campus in Brookings.
