Counseling appointments available for Curry students
Beverly Segner, counselor from the Coos Bay Campus, will be available to meet with students in Brookings and Gold Beach on Monday, May 5. She is able to work with students on individual counseling, career counseling and goal setting.

Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony at Oregon Coast Culinary Institute

Governor Kitzhaber will honor an audience of students selected by their community colleges for the All Oregon Academic Team. Southwestern Oregon Community College selected Kaitlyn Fallon and Tim Edingfield to the 2014 Team.
QuickBooks For Business in Curry County
The Southwestern Oregon Community College Small Business Development Center is offering a 10-week comprehensive QuickBooks training series in Brookings. This is an interactive, hands-on training giving business professionals a comprehensive overview of QuickBooks Pro, and includes an easy-to-use 500 page QuickBooks manual plus free trial software included in the cost of the class.

Join the Gold Beach community for this exciting and uplifting evening. Come Honor Steve Prefontaine, America’s Best Known Distance Runner In His Hometown. Southwestern Oregon Community College will host the 4th Annual Prefontaine Masters and Open Track and Field Meet on April 12, 2014. The meet is open to all College and Masters Athletes.
TRIO Works on the South Coast!
Students and graduates from federal TRIO programs at Southwestern Oregon Community College will participate in a service learning project at Washed Ashore in Bandon on Saturday, Feb. 22 as a way to show appreciation to the community for its support of the TRIO programs.
South Coast Writers Conference Offers Inspiration
The annual South Coast Writers Conference brings together a collection of writers from the Northwest to share, explore and celebrate the many facets of writing. The conference, co-sponsored by Southwestern Oregon Community College and Gold Beach Visitors Center is held on Presidents’ Day weekend, February 14 and 15.
Beginning Fiddle class in Port Orford starts tonight!
Learn to play the fiddle! Southwestern Oregon Community College is offering a beginning fiddle class in Port Orford. In this class taught by Diane Cassel, students will learn basic fiddle skills. Emphasis is on learning by ear and developing your musical ear.
