Southwestern Oregon Community College is hosting an eight-week class on Swing Dancing starting Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Muse Theatrix in Brookings.

Students will learn the seven basic steps of swing dancing, from which all other steps are formed. Swing Dancing will be taught by Debbie Weist, owner of Dance with Debbie studio in Crescent City, Calif. This class will follow Dance Vision International Dance Association Standards. Swing Dancing will meet from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cost per person to participate is $70. Participants should wear comfortable smooth-soled shoes, and singles and couples are welcome.
