Southwestern, Salmon Run tee up golf class

Southwestern Oregon Community College and Salmon Run Golf Course are partnering to offer a Beginning Golf class this spring for those who want to learn to play the game, but don’t know where to start.

PGA Professional Felix Claveran will be teaching the class – which provides participants information about the rules of the game, as well as hands-on experience playing the game – with the assistance of Ed Murdock from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays, May 1 through June 5, at Salmon Run Golf Course in Brookings.

Those interested in learning to play golf or improve their golf game are encouraged to sign up for the classes. No experience is necessary and clubs will be available at no charge to students who don’t have them.

The cost for the course is $65 and pre-registration is required. For more information, or to register, those interested can contact the Southwestern Brookings Center at (541) 469-5017 or the Gold Beach Center at (541) 247-2741.
