Southwestern schedules computer courses in Curry


Southwestern Oregon Community College is offering a series of computer classes this summer in Curry County, covering applications such as Web design, Google, digital cameras and eBay for personal enrichment or professional development.

The following classes will be scheduled the corresponding dates and times:

  • Web Design: Students will learn the tools techniques necessary to create a presence on the Internet by constructing Web sites. Class is scheduled from 9 to 11:20 a.m. on Thursdays;
  • Google Online Applications: Participants will learn to get the most out of Google in this class, which covers search, calendar, documents, photos, groups, Gmail and other applications. Class is scheduled from 6 to 8:20 p.m. on Mondays;
  • Digital Imaging and Cameras: This introductory class – for those getting started in the fascinating world of digital photography – explores using digital cameras and sharing photos around the world, including an introduction to Photoshop Elements. Class meets from 6 to 8:20 p.m. on Tuesdays; and
  • Buy and Sell on eBay: This class covers the nuts and bolts of starting a successful eBay business. Topics include setting up an account, running auctions, finding inventory sources and using PayPal. Class is scheduled from 6 to 7:50 p.m. on Wednesdays.

All classes are scheduled to begin the week of June 23 and last eight weeks. The cost for each class is $34, and $25 for the eBay class.
