Southwestern Oregon Community College is offering a new class on Digital Scrapbooking in Curry County.
Diane Cavaness – a local middle school teacher and self-taught digital scrapbooking enthusiast – will be teaching the class, scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, May 7 through June 4, in the computer lab at the Southwestern Brookings Center.
Participants will be able to learn to use computers to create scrapbook pages to print or e-mail. Students can learn to edit digital photos and use them to create colorful layered digital scrapbook pages using Adobe Photoshop Elements and gain hands-on experience using computers to create scrapbook layouts in a digital format.
Those in attendance need to bring photos saved in a digital format on CD or memory stick for the class and must have basic computer skills, including navigating files, dragging and dropping, opening and closing applications and maximizing and minimizing windows.
Cost of the class is $50. For more information or to register, those interested can contact the Southwestern Brookings Center at (541) 469-5017 or the Gold Beach Center at (541) 247-2741.
