Spice it up in the Flavors of New Orleans Cooking Class

Brookings, OR. - New Orleans foods blends ingredients and spices from many cultures. Learn to prepare tra­ditional dishes of New Orleans inspired by recipes from France, Italy, Spain, Africa, India, Native America, China, and Cuba.

  • Seafood Gumbo: Shrimp and crab meat combined with okra set the stage for this great tasting Cajun stew.
  • Jambalaya: Chicken, rice, and sausage are key ingredients for this bold, flavor dish.
  • Red Beans and Rice: A Monday favorite in New Orleans with just the right spices.
  • Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce: This creamy, warm, custard-texture dessert has it all!

Join Chef Monica Almond and learn to prepare these regional dishes. Participants will have the opportunity to sample these dishes in class. This class will meet Monday February 25, from 6:00-9:00p.m. at the Curry Campus in Brookings at 96082 Lone Ranch Parkway. Cost of this class is $55.
