eDoptions for eFollett.com
Faculty Procedures
- Open
Internet Explorer or Firefox. (Do not use Netscape)
- Go to http://www.socc.bkstr.com

Click
on Faculty Services on the left-hand navigation menu.

- Click
on eDoptions on the left-hand menu in the gray
area under the Faculty Services link.


If
this is your first time using eDoptions, you
will need to register. Under NEW USERS, click on the “Register” button. If
you already have a login, login here and skip to #8 of these procedures.

- You
will now need to fill in all the fields on this page. Please use your
Southwestern contact information (phone, address, email, etc.). When
finished, click on Create Account.



Uncheck boxes if you
don’t want to do it.

Enter your Faculty ID from Colleague

After
clicking on Create Account, you will be directed to a page that repeats
all the information you provided at registration. Please confirm that the
information is all correct and click on Edit Information if you need to
change anything.

Click on the eDoptions link on
the left-hand menu once again, and you will be asked to provide a one-time
password. The password to use is: 70456 (Again, you will only be asked
for this information once. It is to associate your record with the
Southwestern Bookstore.)

- After
clicking Go, you will now be directed to the form where you can either
search for a previous eDoption or create a new
one.

- We are
going to create a new eDoption for Fall 2005 as an example.
- Under
“Create a new edoption for” click on the
drop-down arrow and select your name and click the “Create edoption” button.


You
now need to complete the edoption Details page
by filling in at least all the required fields (marked with red asterisk).

- Est.Enrollment
is the estimated number of students in the class(es) that you are ordering the books for.
- Term: Please use 05/FA, 06/WI,
etc. as the term
- Department: Please enter the first
part of the course number as the Department, such as ART, WR, MTH, etc.
- Course: Please enter the actual
course number (no spaces), such as CIS131, BA223, MTH70, etc.
- Section: Please enter the
section, such as 01, 31, 02D, etc. If you are teaching more than one
section of a class, you can enter each section followed by a comma in the
section field.
- Continuation course: Choose
either Yes or No. This field indicates whether the course this edoption is for a continuation of a course given the
preceding term.
- Comments: You may enter any
comments that you would like the bookstore to know about. This field is
not required.
- Click
on the Add or Manage Materials to add the textbook(s) required for
this course.

- Enter
the ISBN number for the textbook, and click Search.
- If
it finds the textbook, put a check in the box next to the textbook and
click the “add to edoption” button.

- The
textbook is now added to your edoption for that
class. You can either require or recommend the textbook by using the
drop-down menu.

- If
you need to add more textbooks, repeat the same process in the ISBN
search below.
- If
you cannot find the textbook by ISBN search, try using the Title, Author,
or Keywords search and follow the same procedure above for selecting the
textbook.
- If the system cannot find your
textbook, click on Manual eDoption and enter
the information (ISBN, Author, Title, etc.). The bookstore will find the
book from the information you provide.
- Once
you are done with adding materials, click on the “Done Adding Materials”
button. (YOU ARE NOT DONE WITH THE PROCESS. YOU MUST CLICK SUBMIT TO SEND
THE EDOPTION THROUGH.)

You
will now be sent back to your edoption for the
class. Under Materials, you should see the title of the required and
recommended textbooks.

- Click on Submit to send your edoption. The information has now been submitted to the
Bookstore.
- If you do not receive a message that
your edoption was successful with a 6-digit
confirmation number, you have not completed the process and most likely
forgot to click SUBMIT.
Editing or Renewing an eDoption
- Navigate
to the online bookstore site: http://www.socc.bkstr.com
- Click
on Faculty Services, and then eDoptions.
- Instead
of using the new edoption section, you will be
using the Search edoptions section instead to
find your edoption(s).

You
must choose a Start Date and End Date (it is easiest to click on the
little calendar to the far right of the date fields).
- You
can select your name from the Instructor drop-down menu.
Click Search

- You
will now have the edoption search result that should
include your edoption(s).

Click
on the radio button to the left of the edoption
you wish to edit or renew.

- You
now have the option to Edit or Renew this edoptions.
- If you
click on Edit, you will be sent to the original edoption,
where you can edit the fields.
- If you
click on Renew, you will be sent to the original edoption
where you need to enter the new term. You can also change any of the other
fields.

- Click on Submit to send your edoption. The information has now been submitted to
the Bookstore.
- If you do not receive a message that
your edoption was successful with a 6-digit
confirmation number, you have not completed the process and most likely
forgot to click SUBMIT.
