Online Proctoring


Spring Term 2012

The online proctoring lab, located in Room T 408, is open as indicated below:

Mondays        1 – 6 pm
Wednesdays  1 6 pm
Fridays           1 – 5 pm

FINALS WEEK SCHEDULE

Monday, June 11 Tioga 408          1 – 6 pm
Tuesday, June 12 Tioga 408         1 – 6 pm
Wednesday, June 13 Tioga 408    1 – 6 pm


Please note the following important information:

  1. Online proctoring will NOT be available during the first week of classes.
  2. The finals week schedule will be adjusted and posted 2 weeks before finals week each term.
  3. The lab closes at the time posted which means the faculty member needs to inform the students of how much time they have to take  the test; i.e. one hour, two hours etc; and make sure they are aware that they need to allow enough time to take the exam prior to closing. No exceptions.
  4. Arrangements must be made with the online proctor prior to the testing days and times.
  5. There are 23 computers in the lab and testing is on a first come first served basis.

Online Proctoring Lab Rules:

  1. Students are expected to be ready to take the exam, the only thing provided for them may be scratch paper if so designated by the instructor
  2. They may not use any device other than specified by the instructor
  3. Cell phones must be turned off before entering the lab
  4. They may have nothing on the desk other than that specified by the instructor
  5. No talking allowed
  6. No food or drink
  7. They are allowed only on the website of their exam with absolutely no web-surfing of any kind allowed
  8. Student may not leave the lab once they have begun the test – so make sure you have used the restroom before entering the lab
  9. If a student has a question they must raise their hand to get the attention of the proctor

Students Must Have:

  1. Picture ID
  2. Student ID#
  3. Web Advisor ID
  4. Writing utensils
  5. Any materials that the instructor has indicated they may use for the exam
  6. Must know how to turn off pop-up blockers before the exam
  7. Must know where the exam they are taking is located and be able to sign-in to the site – an example would be; www.coursecompass.com.
  8. Must sign in to the lab in the notebook indicated

Instructors Must Provide:

  1. Faculty Name
  2. Faculty contact information i.e. e-mail and phone number home and office
  3. Name of each exam i.e. Math 95
  4. Dates of each exam
  5. Time limit of each exam
  6. Website for each exam – an example only:  www.coursecompass.com
  7. Password for each exam
  8. Resources that students may use i.e. calculator on the computer or their own; scratch paper; textbooks; notes
  9. Please indicate what the student may not use such as their textbooks, notes etc.
