Ron Bell

Ron Bell has taught at Southwestern since 1999 after spending a year living in Cuzco, Peru. He has two masters degrees, the MC in Counseling from Arizona State University and an MFA in Playwriting from UCLA. In addition to doing personal and career counseling, Ron has developed courses which address math and test anxiety. A life long learner, Ron's interests include Ericksonian Hypnosis, biofeedback, animation and movie making, computer programming, mathematics, piano as well as the science of golf.

Carolyn Byrd

Carolyn Byrd became the SSS counselor in September of 2007. She graduated with her Associates from Big Bend Community College where she was an active member of SSS. Carolyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Washington State University, and her Master of Social Work from Eastern Washington University. She has worked extensively with under served populations particularly in the community mental health setting where she provided services to the working poor and uninsured as a mental health counselor. Carolyn teaches several classes at Southwestern, including "College Success and Survival", “Positive Psychology”, “Stress Management", “Decision Making”, “Self Esteem”, “Career/Education Exploration”, and “Study Skills”.

Tim Dailey

Tim Dailey is an Associate Professor, and Director of both Student Support Services and Disability Services at Southwestern Oregon Community College. Tim has been at Southwestern for nine years. He has a Masters degree in Counseling from Arizona State University. He has taught HD 100 College Success and Survival and HD 204 Positive Psychology at Southwestern. Tim's hobbies include playing the guitar with friends, sports, listening to music, cooking and camping.

Beverly Segner
Beverly Segner

Beverly Segner

Beverly is a Counseling Professor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She enthusiastically provides academic , personal, and career counseling at the Coos and Curry campuses. Her teaching responsibilities include HD 208 Career and Life Planning and HD 100 College Success. When not on campus, you may find her ballroom dancing or hiking in the woods.
