Southwestern Faculty Development

To monitor the funding of activities which improve instruction and promote professional growth of the faculty.
To inform all faculty about faculty development procedures, screens requests for funding, and recommends funding to the Vice President of Instruction.
To inform all faculty about the Teaching Excellence Program, rank submissions, and submits recommendations to the Southwestern Foundation.
To act as a screening committee for sabbatical leave requests.
To initiate or coordinate faculty development programs.

The Theory into Practice Database

The Theory into Practice database of Learning Theory from www.pyschology.org. The database contains brief summaries of 50 major theories of learning and instruction. These theories can also be accessed by learning domains and concepts.

The Seven Principles

The Seven Principles of Good Practice in Undergraduate Education. First proposed by Chickering and Gamson over a decade ago, the Seven Principles have been widely adopted by colleges and Universities as a means to further the critical conversations about what best practices in education really mean.
