Child care organizations and parents across the globe are joining together the Friday before Mothers Day, May 6, to celebrate Provider Appreciation Day. The day honors and recognizes child care professionals, teachers, school-age program staff, child care center directors and staff, and all those who work with children and are responsible for their education and care.

Southwestern Oregon Community College (SWOCC) received notice March 31 they have been awarded National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation for their Childhood Education degree programs.

Positive Parenting Project collaborates with regional foundation

Southwestern Oregon Community College’s Pathways to Positive Parenting Project has been named the “HUB” for parenting education in Coos and Curry counties. This designation brings with it at least three years of grant funding through the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF), in collaboration with the Meyer Memorial Trust, to further develop and continue community parenting education in our local area.
