Steps for Applying
- Complete and Application for Admission to Southwestern. Southwestern is an open enrollment college, and all applications are accepted for students meeting the admissions criteria.
- You can apply for federal and state aid by completing and submitting a FAFSA. You must submit a FAFSA online. Some awards are based on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Southwestern's school code for the FAFSA is: 003220.
- You must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen or eligible noncitizen of the United States with a valid Social Security Number;
- Have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate or pass an approved "ability to benefit" test;
- Enroll in an eligible program as a regular student seeking a degree or certificate;
- Register (or have registered) for Selective Service, if you are a male between the ages of 18-25;
- Have a result of Eligible or Partially Eligible on the Drug Conviction question as posed on the FAFSA.
Note: answering 'No' to this question (having been convicted of possessing or selling illegal drugs) does not mean your status will never change in the case of subsequent convictions. If your status changes, please notify the financial aid administrator at your school.
- Once Southwestern receives your FAFSA information, we will notify you by email.
- Go to www.socc.edu and click on the Webadvisor link on the top-right.
- If you already have a WebAdvisor ID, click on Login. If not, click on "I'm New to WebAdvisor" at bottom-right of page and follow the steps to obtain your login information.
- Once logged in, click on the blue "Students" option on the right.
- Under the Financial Aid heading, click on "My Financial Aid Documents" to access the list of documents needed to complete your financial aid file at Southwestern.
- Print and complete any forms that are required and submit to the address below along with any other requested documents listed on your "My Financial Aid Documents" page.

- Review Southwestern's policies regarding Financial aid and understand your rights and responsibilities as a student
- If you are transferring to Southwestern, be aware of the deadlines noted above. Paperwork does not transfer from school to school.
- Once we have received ALL your paperwork, you will receive an email with the steps to viewing your estimated financial aid awards.
