ROCKLIN, CA - Former SWOCC baseball player Nik Edmondson, M.A., recently released a one-of-a-kind eBook with embedded video titled One Pitch at a Time- Mental and Physical Training for Peak Pitching Performance.
The eBook combines 33 chapters of text and video lessons to train sport psychology, physical fitness, and skills and drills for baseball pitchers. The book is available from Edmondson’s media publishing website nowperformance.com.
Edmondson graduated from Rocklin High School (Rocklin, CA) in 2003 and earned a scholarship to play baseball at SWOCC from 2003-2005. After two years at SWOCC, Edmondson continued his education and baseball career at St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, New Jersey. After his junior year at St. Peter’s, he suffered a potentially career-ending injury when a 92 mph fastball shattered his fibula (knee).
Forced out of the game, Edmondson pursued another passion he had studied at SWOCC--sport psychology. The mental side of sport had been a cornerstone in his ability to go from non-recruited high school athlete to Division 1 scholar-athlete and he wanted to learn more. After receiving a B.A. from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California, he went on to earn an M.A. in Sport Psychology from John F Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, California.
Despite the three year setback from baseball, Edmondson went on to be a professional player, consultant, and coach with a baseball club in Prague, Czech Republic. After playing in Europe, Edmondson returned to California to continue his career as a Performance Consultant, educating athletes (young and old) on the power of the mind-body connection.
Working as a Performance Consultant specializing in sport psychology, kinetic training, and baseball coaching, Edmondson found the need to get the message of mental and physical training to the public. Edmondson started his own publishing company specializing in performance, which launched his eBook, turning the former SWOCC player “pro” as an author, and publisher.
