Memorial Funds set up for teen who died in crash

Two memorial funds have been set up in memory of 19-year-old Tyler Hoffman. The Tyler Hoffman Memorial Fund is accepting donations at any Umpqua Bank under that title. The SOCC Foundation c/o Tyler Hoffman is a newly appointed scholarship fund for future paramedic students attending Southwestern Oregon Community College. Tyler, of Reedsport, passed away from injuries received during a vehicle accident. He was beginning an internship at North Bend Fire & Rescue and was to start his associate's degree in fire science technology as well as an associate's degree in paramedicine at Southwestern Oregon Community College in September. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Pacific Auditorium in Reedsport.
