Where have all the nurses gone? Where are YOU now?

Nursing Alumni,

Nursing alumni 69

Where are you and what have you been up to?  In an effort to better connect, we ask that you complete this form; sharing comments on the impact nursing has had in your life.  Up-to-date records make our connection efforts much more successful so we really appreciate your assistance.

Did you know that Southwestern will graduate the 50th class of nurses this June?  We want you to join us in celebrating with all the graduates and in recognizing the College's longest running program!  Nursing alumni are invited to be our guests in honoring the accomplishments of one of your own – Kathy Laird, 2012 Distinguished Alumni (Nursing Class of '87), celebrating with the Class of 2012, and showing the impact the program has had on communities near and far.

Claire Bream, Class of '05

"She (Nurse LaFond) did a wonderful job of preparing us."  Mary Russell, Class of '72

"Looking forward to it!  I have worked in ICU since 1982."  Lisa Parish, Classes of '75 and '79

"…because my mother was a nurse I always knew I wanted to be one too…I was so lucky to get my nursing degree here and play sports, both passions of mine…SWOCC has given me the opportunity to stay in Coos Bay close to family, meet my husband of 30 years, have no financial debts, and find a job that pays very well…it was the best decision I ever made."  Ellen Bassett (Braulick), Class of '80

"Angie Quinn was amazing! She's the reason I'm a nurse. She was a phenominal person and support person."  Annette Pike (Rummerfield), Class of '82

"When I graduated and became an RN it was the first time in my life that I really made a good salary, and was able to buy a house. I've had many great jobs, including working as a nurse in the major eye hospital of the Middle East, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Spent eight years there and had the opportunity to meet wonderful new friends, find out about a new culture, and travel the world. Visited 25 countries and thoroughly enjoyed myself. None of this would have been possible without SWOCC…My years spent at SWOCC were very fulfilling, have great memories of many of my instructors and classes, will always be greatful for the excellent education I received there."  Mary Yousaf (Leinum), Class of '86

"I had a GREAT experience in nursing school at SWOCC.  All of my nursing and prerequisite course instructors were incredible, and I left there feeling I received a great education.  I LOVE being a nurse, and cannot imagine doing anything else.  Kudos to SWOCC in celebrating 50 years!!  What a great accomplishment."  Claire Bream, Class of '05
