Additional Dollars Secured for Pathways

The Board of Education will be considering the acceptance of a $91,506 grant from the Oregon Department of Community Colleges during their January 28, 2008 meeting. The grant will allow Southwestern to continue activities listed in the Southwestern Pathways Action Plan with specific focus in three areas:

  1. The Career Pathways Specialist will work with departments on campus in completing current pathways and developing any new pathways deemed necessary by the President and the Office of Instructions. Roadmaps and other supportive material will be developed and the specialist will work with the Prep/Tech Coordinator to align high school preparation in these Pathways.
  2. ABS course or a “Bridge” program for three pathways will be created.
  3. Southwestern will continue to align high school courses and programs of study in specific pathways.

This grant’s budget period begins Oct. 1, 2007 and ends April 30, 2009.
