All of Southwestern library materials and computers are available to anyone for in-library use.
Anyone who has a current COASTLINE library card may:
- Check materials out from the Southwestern library
- Borrow materials from other COASTLINE libraries
- Request interlibrary loans
- Access online databases on or off campus via the library's Web page.
Exceptions:
- Fines/charges:
- Currently enrolled students, current faculty, and staff of the Southwestern college community in Coos and Curry counties: When fines/charges owed to COASTLINE libraries total more than $5, borrowing privileges are restricted to Southwestern library owned materials.
- Other patrons: When fines/charges owed to COASTLINE libraries total more than $5, borrowing privileges are suspended.
- Guests: Guest card holders are subject to the same fines/charges restrictions as non-students.
- Interlibrary Loans (ILL):
- Currently enrolled students, current faculty, and staff of the Southwestern college community in Coos and Curry counties: ILL service is free to all Southwestern students/staff/faculty to a maximum of $10 per item. When charges exceed $10, the patron will be notified and can cancel request or pay the amount charged. The library will pay a maximum of $30 per term for each patron.
- Other patrons: There is a $2 fee to pay for shipping and handling when requesting a book/media. There is a $10 pre-authorization for periodical articles in the event that the only libraries filling the request charge a fee for their services.
