When materials are overdue, borrowers will be sent only one notice requesting their return. If the materials are not returned or renewed, a bill will be issued for the replacement cost of the items, processing charges, and billing fee.

The card holder is responsible for all materials checked out on their patron library card. Report lost or stolen cards to your library immediately, so a block can be placed on your account.

Books/Media:

• Overdue charge = $0.15/day
  • The overdue item will continue to accrue charges to a maximum of $4, at which point the item is billed
  • Replacement charge = $25 (default)
  • Non-refundable billing fee = $4
  • Non-refundable processing fee = $5

Course Reserve Materials (including headphones, audiocassette players):

• Fines, billing and replacement costs vary depending on item and check out period.

Interlibrary Loan Materials:

• Overdue charge = $.50/day
  • If not returned by the 3rd day after the due date, patron will be billed for replacement costs.
  • Replacement charge = $65
  • Non-refundable billing fee = $5

Periodicals:

• Overdue charge = $.15/day
  • The overdue item will continue to accrue charges to a maximum of $4, at which point the item is billed
  • Replacement charge = $25 (default)
  • Non-refundable billing fee = $4
  • Non-refundable processing fee = $5

Videocassettes/DVDs:

• Overdue charge = $1.00/day
  • If not returned by the 7th day after the due date, patron will be billed for replacement costs.
  • Replacement charge = $30 (default)
  • Non-refundable billing fee = $7
  • Non-refundable processing fee = $5

Current faculty and staff of the Southwestern college community in Coos and Curry counties - Overdue Materials:

• Southwestern Library: No fines will be charged.
• Other COASTLINE libraries: Fines will be charged. Billing and replacement charges may vary.
