Southwestern's Music Department
The Music department at Southwestern Oregon Community College boasts approximately 30 music majors with a staff of 11 dedicated Instructors to meet the needs of our diverse student population whether music major or non-major. We provide the musical training and education that is needed for students planning to transfer to a 4-year music degree program. The department also offers ample performance opportunities for anyone wishing to perform in an ensemble regardless of major. The ensembles offered are: Orchestra, Jazz Choir, Symphonic Choir, Chamber Choir, Recorder Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Jazz Band, Concert Band, Saxophone Quartet, and Stage Band.
Music News and Upcoming Performances
Celebrating 48 years of music at Southwestern Oregon Community College, The Music Department is pleased to present its fall concert series from November 26 to 28, 2012 at the Hales Center for the Performing Arts on the SWOCC campus. These concerts are free and open to the public beginning at 7:00 PM each night, although donations are always gratefully accepted for the SWOCC music department. more...
