COOS BAY, OR – The Coos County Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) invites the community to attend the Southern Oregon Coast Extraordinary Living Conference at Southwestern Oregon Community College. Participants will “Discover the Second Half of Life” through workshops, exhibits, entertainment and prizes at the November 3, 2012 event.
The day will start with check-in and exhibits at 8:30-9:30 a.m., followed by keynote speaker State Senator Joanne Verger. Attendees will then have the opportunity to participate in three different sessions for the remainder of the day. There are many workshop topics to choose from during each session. Some of the workshop options include: Good Nutrition and the Diabetic; Plant Power; Solar Power; Medicare; Local History; Writing Your Memoirs; Wills, Living Trusts & Estate Administration; Financial Planning for Retirement; Earthquake and Tsunami Preparedness; Hiking for a Healthy Life; and Art in Your Life.
The conference will be held in the Oregon Coast Culinary Institute on the Coos Campus. Registration is $20 per person and lunch is included. Proceeds of the event will benefit RSVP.
