Southwestern adds Intercollegiate Swimming Program


Coos Bay, OR – Southwestern Oregon Community College is excited to announce the establishment of Intercollegiate Swimming for both men and women.  In the Fall of 2014 Southwestern will begin competing at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) level in Men’s and Women’s Swimming. Southwestern students will compete regionally in the Northwest at various invitational meets as well as the NJCAA National Championships, for those swimmers who meet qualifying standards.
 
Sandra Bullock has been hired to coach the new team. Bullock has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Touro University, and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the United States Coast Guard Academy, New London, Connecticut. She is a retired Lieutenant Commander in the United States Coast Guard.
 
Coach Bullock’s past coaching experience includes Assistant Swim Coach for Gold Coast and South Coast Aquatic Teams, Assistant Coach Dolphin Swim Team, Nassau International, and is USA Swimming Coach Certified.
