Southwestern Athlete to Sign 4-Year College Letter of Intent


COOS BAY, OR – DJ Anderson, a guard for the Southwestern Oregon Community College (SWOCC) Men’s Basketball team, will sign a national letter of intent on Wednesday, April 30 to continue playing basketball next year in Minnesota at Bemidji State University, a NCAA Division II school and member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

He has been a vital part to our regional championship this year,” said Hoppe. 

“DJ was a huge part of our team this year that was co-champions in the NWAACC Southern Region.” said SWOCC Head Coach Trevor Hoppe. The 5’11” guard is originally from Canyon Springs High School in Las Vegas, NV. He averaged 18 points, four rebounds, and four assists per game last season, including a season high of 33 points in a game with Spokane Community College.

Anderson was selected first team all-conference, all-defensive team, and was voted to play in the NWAACC sophomore all-star game.

“He has been a vital part to our regional championship this year,” said Hoppe. “We will miss his talent and leadership but know he will have continued success at Bemidji State University.”
