Southwestern’s Hannah Moon Claims National Collegiate Wrestling Association Women’s Championship Title

Coos Bay, OR. - Hannah Moon, a sophmore at Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay, beat Cindy Kuang of San Jose State to win the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Women's National Championship Saturday in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Five of the team were named all American and all seven girls placed all-American: Shay Workman, Biri Mendoza, Hannah Moon, Caroline Crawford, and Hannah Francis. National Champions: Biri Mendoza, Hannah Moon, and Caroline Crawford.

The wrestling program at Southwestern began as a varsity program this year (2012) and this is Bo’s first year as coach.  Kyle Croy began the program two years ago as a club sport when Kendra Nelson won an Individual National Championship in 2011 and through his efforts was able to convince the college to support Women’s Wrestling as a varsity program.
