SWOCC Softball Coach Megan Corriea and her staff voted by NWAACC as National Fastpitch Coaching Staff of the Year

Coos Bay, OR. - Megan Corriea, Softball Coach of SWOCC and her staff were voted by the NWAACC coaches as the National Fastpitch Association Coaching Staff of the Year.

Subsequently the coaches and team are invited to Orlando, Florida to receive the award on November 28th at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) convention.

The Team finished the season 36-7 and won the Southern Region Championships for the first time in Southwestern’s history.

Five sophomores signed letters of intent to play at 4-year Universities. They include:

Samantha Everett, from Roseville California, AAOT graduate received a scholarship to play for Montana State Billings. received second team All-Conference honors.

Brianna Nicholson, from Grass Valley California, AAOT graduate, received a scholarship to play for Stanislaus State University, in Turlock California. Received second Team All-Conference honors.

Jamie Gregory, from Grants pass, Oregon. Received a scholarship to play at Mount Marty College, in Yankton South Dakota. Jamie received first team All-Conference honors.

Sophia Lopez, from Quartz Hill, California, AAOT graduate received a scholarship to play at Mount Marty College, in Yankton South Dakota.

Alexandria Molina, from Atwater California, AAOT graduate, received a scholarship to play at Chico State University, in Chico California. Alex received first team All-Conference, Southern Region Pitcher of the year and NFCA All-American.
