Activities

Throughout the year TS students attend various fun and educational activities, and they are always FREE!!!  Talk to your  TS Student Specialist if you are interested in any of the free activities TS has to offer.

College campus visits are scheduled throughout the year and are available to all TS Juniors and Seniors. Campus visits:

• University of Oregon, Eugene
• Oregon State University, Corvallis
• Portland State University, Portland
• Western Oregon University, Monmouth
• Southern Oregon University, Ashland
• Oregon Institute of Technology, Klamath Falls
  
• College 101, SOCC campus
  Freshmen Leadership Conference, MHS
• College Fair at Roseburg High School, Roseburg
  (Freshmen & Sophomores only)

All High school plays and performances are free to Talent Search and Upward Bound Students.

Here are some prior year's activities:

2001 - 2002: freshmen from MHS and NBHS attended the annual Freshmen Leadership Conference held at MHS. We had a guest speaker and the students participated in five different sessions on topics related to leadership. Here are some the pictures from that morning (click here).

The National Student Leadership Congress is held in Washington, DC. We sent two students in 2007. Congratulation to Alex Elletson, Marshfield High School; Kristen Woomer, North Bend High School; They had a great time learning about government and writing laws. Ask your TS specialist if you're interested in going to this program your junior year.

Upward Bound Math & Science is a free summer adventure that gets you ready for college. Talk to your UB Specialist for more information.
