Talent Search and Upward Bound

Talent Search (TS) and Upward Bound (UB) are educational access and retention programs sponsored by Southwestern Oregon Community College and funded through the U.S. Department of Education.

PURPOSE

Our Purpose is to identify, motivate, and assist middle through high school students in their educational transitions.  We assist and encourage students to stay in school and graduate, and enroll in a community college, university, or technical training program.

TS STAFF

Our Student Specialists are available regularly at schools for individual and group meetings.  Middle school students are encouraged to stay in school, improve study skills, and develop career and college awareness. High school students are assisted with class selection, educational opportunities and exploration, and with the completion of college admissions, financial aid, and scholarship forms. UB includes a six week summer residence program at Southwestern Oregon Community College.
