Institutional Programs

Institutional Tuition Scholarships - Southwestern offers a variety of tuition scholarships to assist students in paying for tuition at Southwestern.

• Graduates from high school with a 3.75 cumulative GPA (or higher) may be eligible to receive a scholarship (must have graduated in the Spring prior to attending Southwestern).
• Southwestern Grants are to pay tuition are available for specific majors and areas of education interest.
• Southwestern GED graduates who score an average of 650 or higher on the test after completing the GED program
• Students that participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Afghanistan (must have been a resident of the College District at the time of entry into the military or at time of re-activation)
• Students that participate in other student activities such as Associated Student Government, the Southwester and the Beacon.
  
  Students are also required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to receive institutional funds.

General Scholarships - General scholarships can be applied for with Southwestern's General Scholarship Application available online. The Foundation offers scholarships from a variety of donors. The scholarship application is available early December of each year for the upcoming school year and due March 1st.

Other On-Campus Work Programs - Southwestern offers some other work programs for students who are not eligible for Federal Work-Study. These jobs are very limited due to funding. Other on-campus work programs consist of General Student Employment (GSE), and Athletic Work-Study (AWS). Students interested in the GSE program are encouraged to attend a Student Employment Seminar so that they can be ready if any jobs come available.  Contact Financial Aid Office located in Dellwood Hall for more information on GSE jobs.  Contact the Athletic Department for more information on AWS jobs.
