What is Student Support Services?Student Support Services is one of the federally funded TRIO programs for education. The goal of SSS is to help students stay in school, transfer to other colleges or universities, or graduate from Southwestern Oregon Community College. These services are provided free to students to assist them with the challenges of college life. The SSS staff is prepared to provide support and help along the road to a successful school experience.
Student Support Services MissionThe mission of Student Support Services (SSS) is to provide academic and personal support to students who come from low-income backgrounds, are first generation college students (neither parent has a bachelor's degree), or have a documented physical or learning disability. The professional staff members of SSS, together with student tutors and mentors, enable eligible students to meet with academic success that is commensurate with their academic potential and the effort they invest in academic endeavors.
