Why I love living in a smaller community

This year I got to go to the Coos County Fair and worked in it with the Ambassador Program.  What a blast.  But my highlight was when they brought out the tortoise from the reptile exhibit and it started to cruise and make its escape down the midway.  Boy, those things can move when they want to.  The family interaction and the comraderie that I saw in the fair was something that I missed when I lived in the larger city.  The kids with friends were having fun not causing trouble.  Parents were interacting with their kids not hanging out at the beer gardens and handing their kids money to get rid of them.  There wasn't the fear and mistrust that you have when you live in the city. Just one more reason I am grateful to live in a smaller community.
