My journey

I’ve been going to school at SWOCC just three months shy of a year, and I feel as if my life has changed completely. A lot of people see college as a place where only the fortunate go, but anyone can if they have the determination to. My one dream in my teenage years was to get the chance to sit in a class around twenty to thirty some odd people who were gaining a new perspective on various subjects. I was set back multiple times after I had gotten out of high school, because of some events thrown my way; eventually the chance was laid out in front of me. I wanted it that bad! I moved 175 miles away from my mom, brother, and sister to start a new future for myself, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. South Western has broken me out of my comfort zone many of times, and I’m so happy to start my journey here.  You never know where just a year can take you, who you’ll meet along your path, and who you’ll form lasting relationships with. Life is unwritten.
