My AMAZING 22nd Birthday...

I was born on the date of 8-8-88. That is August 8, 1988. Yes I know that is a lot of 8s, but I am very proud of it. Last year for my 21st birthday, I was in Alaska for my annual training for the Marines. Needless to say, I didn't have much of a birthday and there was no celebrating. This year my birthday just so happened to land on a drill weekend and i would be spending another amazing birthday under the influence of the Marine Corps. Drill was four days long and all we did was shoot M-16s at a rifle range in Portland Oregon. I love shooting so that part wasnt so bad and i did qualify as an expert shooter which is the highest shooting award you can get in the Marines. It was my second time shooting expert in a row so i now get a nifty badge for my uniform that shows that I shot that well. But come Sunday, which was my birthday, I was stuck in Eugene Oregon at drill until really late that night. By the time I got home I was too tired and worn out to even want to do anything to celebrate. Thank you for another wonderful birthday USMC! Maybe next year.
